il y a is the French phrase for [there is / there are].

    There are too many tourists.

The verb aimer can be used to express liking things in addition to liking activities.
  • Tu n'aimes pas les touristes?
    You don't like tourists?
  • Je n'aimes pas les touristes.
    I don't like tourists.
  • Tu aimes Paris?
    You like Paris?
  • J'aime Paris.
    I like Paris.
